El Gobierno de Paraguay inauguró el viernes 17-7-20 un nuevo tramo de pavimentación de la Ruta Bioceánica correspondiente al Departamento Alto Paraguay, desde Carmelo Peralta.
El Corredor Vial Bioceánico, que conectará a Brasil y Chile a través de Paraguay y el Noroeste de Argentina, completó 92 kms. de ruta asfaltada, luego de sumar los 16 kms. inaugurados el 17-7-20. Este tramo unirá a Carmelo Peralta, en Alto Paraguay, en la frontera con Brasil y Pozo Hondo, en el departamento de Boquerón, en la frontera con Argentina.
Esto demuestra que en Paraguay no se paralizó la construcción de este Corredor Bioceánico, a pesar de la pandemia de coronavirus, con el objetivo no sólo de mejorar la logística nacional y cumplir con el compromiso internacional de Paraguay con los otros tres países que comparten este proyecto.
El Presidente de la República de Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, asistió a la inauguración, junto al Ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, Arnoldo Wiens, además de otras autoridades locales y departamentales. A raíz del evento, destacó en redes sociales la importancia que tiene esta ruta y su infraestructura para el país. El mandatario resaltó que la Ruta Bioceánica es una de las más importantes no sólo para la región Occidental del Paraguay, sino también a nivel país, ya que posicionará a Paraguay como aliado logístico en Sudamérica.
El paquete estructural de esta nueva ruta cuenta con 76 centímetros de grosor, un terraplén de 1,30 metros y un ancho total de carretera de 12 metros, siendo la calzada de 3,5 metros por carril. El Corredor Bioceánico abarcará 277 kilómetros en total, en su primera etapa por territorio paraguayo, cuya inversión supera los 400 millones de dólares.
Para finales de Julio, se espera inaugurar el subtramo 4, el cual corresponde a 12 kms, lo que sumará 104 kms. de carretera terminada. Actualmente, el proyecto está generando más de 1.000 puestos de trabajo directos y se espera que, al culminarlo, genere otros 2.500 empleos adicionales
